Sheshegwaning has a vision to collectively strive to be a self-sufficient and prosperous community of balance, and healthy families. This vision is guided by Anishinabek culture and heritage. These will generate financial and social benefits for the Nation long into the future.

“Many seeds have been planted over the years to make this vision a reality. A solid foundation of governance has been developed through the passing laws such as our Financial Administration Law, gained through the First Nations Financial Management Board,” said Alana Endanawas, SFN Chief. “Our Nation is also very proud to achieve FMB’s Financial Management System Certification. We see this certification as holding the Sheshegwaning First Nation to the highest standards of financial practices, and as a significant accomplishment toward our long-term goals.”

The FMB acknowledges the strong leadership of the Sheshegwaning First Nation Chief and Council, and the dedication of their staff that were key to achieving FMS Certification. The FMB recognizes the Sheshegwaning First Nation on this major accomplishment!
