How to make an Access to Information request.
The Privacy Act provides citizens the right to access personal information held by the government and protection of that information against unauthorized use and disclosure.
To Make an Access to Information Act Request：
Under the Access to Information Act, the right of access is available to Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada, and to any individual or corporation present in Canada.
Under the Privacy Act, the right to request access to your own personal information is available to Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada, and to any individual present in Canada.
You can submit an Access to Information or Privacy Act request using the ATIP Online Request service (here).
Access to Information requests require a $5 application fee. Privacy Act requests to access your own personal information are free.
